Rabbits and Rodents have continuously growing teeth and when faced with a malocclusion (where the upper and lower teeth don’t correctly meet up) may wear down improperly. Here at Westminster Veterinary Group, anesthetized molar adjustments are a team effort. Our patients are anesthetized for carefully positioned radiographs (x-rays) of their skull, a detailed oral exam and a molar adjustment with a dental drill which allows for detailed filing of uncomfortable points to reduce trauma to the tongue and cheek tissue. When appropriate, our doctors also perform extractions of loose and/or infected teeth and treat local abscesses.
